To make Apple Pie follow the following ingredients and method:
Material:
For the pastry:
- 2 ½ cups refined flour
- 1 cup butter (cold and cut into small pieces)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon salt
for the stuffing:
- 6-8 apples (peeled and cut into slices)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg powder (optional)
Method of Preparation:
- Making the pastry:
- Take flour in a large bowl, add salt and sugar.
- Add the cold butter and mix well until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Then knead the dough by slowly adding cold water.
- Divide the dough into two parts and keep one part in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Apple Stuffing:
- Combine apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg and flour in a large bowl. Mix all ingredients well.
- Making the pie:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Roll out one portion of the dough removed from the freezer and place in a pie tin.
- Add the apple mixture.
- Roll out the other portion of dough and place it over the apples. Seal the edges well and make a few cuts on the top to allow steam to escape.
